Root Cause Reports
Root Cause Reports: Turning Local Problems into Statewide Solutions
Root Cause Reports is a map-based tool that tracks real-time disease, pest, and abiotic issues in soybean, corn, and tobacco fields across North Carolina. From root rot and foliar diseases to herbicide injury and insect outbreaks, the platform captures field-level observations submitted by extension professionals, researchers, consultants, and growers. With each report pinned to the map, Root Cause Reports helps identify emerging threats, recognize regional patterns, and support timely management decisions throughout the season.
